The point of open-sourcing a workshop is teaching what it knows. We're building the curriculum in the order you ask for it — vote for what you want first, and the first classes run in person, hands-on, this year.
From spore to fruit: substrate prep, inoculation, growing environments, harvest.
Grow building materials from mycelium: mycobricks, mushroom leather, and beyond.
Traditional joinery, layout, and raising. Two-day intensive.
Hand tools, power tools, joinery, and building functional pieces from scratch.
Earth-based construction for walls, benches, and ovens.
A complete yurt from frame to cover. Multi-day hands-on build.
Hot piles, worm bins, and turning waste into garden gold.
Reading the land, designing food systems, building soil that builds itself.
Soil prep, seed starting, succession planting, harvest planning.
Chickens, eggs, and folding animals into a permaculture system.
Dual extraction, infusions, and potent medicine from what you grow.
Eating from your garden, preserving the harvest, seasonal nutrition.
YunoHost, Pixelfed, PieFed, POSSE. Own your digital life on your own hardware.
Sensors, automations, and building your own Lyra for an AI-assisted homestead.
The complete model: how to design and run a woodshop-mushroom-compost loop in your own context.
Classes run in person at the workshop — on the Maine side of the White Mountains, where the edges meet — capped small enough that your hands stay busy the whole time. You leave with the skill, the notes, and in most classes something you made or grew.
Every class also gets filmed. As the catalog grows, the recordings become courses you can take from anywhere, so what gets taught here doesn't stay here. Winners of the vote get built first. Want in when the first one opens? The letter hears first.
